Mine Albasan

earned her master’s degree in Islamic Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. At the Artop Institute at the Humboldt University Berlin she completed her trainer education for communication and behaviour. As a free-lancer she offers coaching and training courses in communication, conflict management and intercultural competence. Being an Islamic scientist and alternative practitioner in psychotherapy she also offers psychological and Sufi counselling in the field of migration, identity, interculturality, life contentment and Sufi lifestyle in Turkish and German language for individuals, couples, groups and institutions.

 

Dr. Angelika Maser

studied History and Political Theory at the University of Cambridge in Great Britain. After the completion of her PhD and a training to be a mediator she worked as a peace and conflict counselor abroad, mostly in the Middle East and on the Balkans. She conducted the Germany-based programmes for Save the Children Germany e.V.. Nowadays she is self-employed as a supervisor, mediator and trainer and works e.g. as conflict counselor in communities in Saxony-Anhalt.

 

Olaf Mittelstraß

completed his master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology, Ancient American Studies, Sociology and Pre- and Early History in Bonn. Subsequently he worked as a university teacher and scholarship holder for the Robert Bosch Foundation in Russia and as project manager for the West German Chambers of Crafts and Skilled Trades’ Council in Düsseldorf. After working briefly at the department for Interculturality at the Brandenburgisch-Technische Universität Cottbus he got employed by the Humboldt-Institute and worked as a teacher for German as a foreign language in China, later as university teacher for the Shanghai-Hamburg College. From 2014 on he worked for five years as university teacher for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Dnipro(petrovsk)/Ukraine. Since Oktober 2019 he is associated as DAAD-scholarship holder with the department for Educational Studies at the Technische Universität Berlin and does a postgraduate course in Intercultural Competence Studies.

 

Irina Slot

Dr. phil. Irina Slot studied physics, business administration and intercultural communication in Moscow, Hanover and Maastricht and received her doctorate in sociolinguistics in Berlin. She has published several books and numerous articles on interculturality and interdisciplinarity. Irina Slot comes to the university from practical experience and consistently maintains contact with it, in keeping with the saying attributed to Albert Einstein: "Learning is experience. Everything else is simply information".

Further principles of her teaching are: consistent student-orientation and modern teaching methods - not as an end in itself, but as a means for individualised and sustainable learning.

 

Ulrike Zillmer-Tantan

completed her master’s degree in Applied Cultural Studies at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. At university she supported foreign students, later also at the Goethe-Institute Hamburg and at the international office at Leuphana University. She gained international studying and working experience in London, Amsterdam, Linköping/Sweden, Izhevsk/Russia, Istanbul, Tokyo, and Rabat/Morocco. She was trained by Stefanie Kuschel, Elke Bosse, Gwenn Hiller, et al. to be an intercultural trainer in the higher education sector. For more than ten years she worked at the Servicestelle Interkulturelle Kompetenz des Dachverbands der Studentenwerke in Berlin, where she organized seminars, workshops, and conferences and designed practical manuals on intercultural topics. Since autumn 2016 she works as research assistant at the centre for intercultural learning at Europa-Universität Viadrina, Frankfurt/Oder. There she trains students to be intercultural peer-tutors. She furthermore teaches at different universities and is honorarily active in the German-Japanese youth exchange.
